Cops are cracking down on absent-minded drivers and aggressive cyclists in a “share the road” campaign.

Toronto Police officers will be stationed on College St. between Augusta Ave. and Bellevue Ave. for the launch, but will target the whole city until Sunday June 28.

They’ll be looking at unsafe behaviour from both sides during the week of “Safe Cycling – Share the Responsibility.”

Here’s what they’re looking at:
– motorists opening car doors in the path of cyclists
– the importance of checking blind spots prior to making right turns

Officers will pay particular attention to those motorists who endanger the lives of cyclists, including vehicles parked in designated bike lanes.
As well, cops are also paying attention to bike riders who exhibit aggressive riding, putting themselves, pedestrians and motorists at risk
